In keeping with the mandate of the Great Commission, as uttered by the Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18-20, Greater Mount Calvary Christian Church sets forth as it’s mission to exalt Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. To make disciples by sharing the Gospel with all nations, to educate and edify the Saints by implementing a strong and vibrant Christian Education Program and to elevate society by living exemplary lives before mankind.

In 1880, Mount Calvary Baptist Church was established by Jennie Serepta Dean, the visionary of yesterday. She received her formal education at Thorntion School in Catharpin, Virginia.
